Headphones, Meet Plug

Dear lady watching the portable DVD player on the 2 train this morning,

I would assume that you noticed the 30+ people staring at you with confusion and scorn. Perhaps you thought that we were all just grumpy, which was true, because your headphones were not plugged in. This would have been slightly okay if, let's say, you had the volume down and the content did not include the occasional sexual moaning. But it was loud. And there was moaning. And it was 8:30 in the morning. Did I mention that you were wearing headphones but they were not plugged in?

I just thought that you might want to know, as none of us on the train had the balls to tell you in person. I think this might have been because of the moaning.

Sincerely,
Your fellow 2 train rider

That sounds more entertaining than the homeless couple who were just burned out of their home and/or have no money to bury their baby (not necessarily connected) repeated multiple times over the last year. Or, the evangelists who loudly proclaim why you're going to hell (assuming that's a worse fate than listening to them at 7:30 am).

Highly amusing, but probably because it didn't actually happen to me.

Think of how boring it would be to commute alone in a car every day!

What would a subway evangelist say about the moaning??

Not sure but it would be great entertainment, I'm sure.

Other related subway frustrations:

*Kids who play music out loud from their phones. So low budget. Get headphones!

*People who are listening to music with their headphones on but the music is so loud you can still hear it from across the subway car. (And it always seems to be the worst kind of music too.)
