Little Buddy
It's been over a year since Uncle Irving was put on a human anti-depressant to help curb is obsessive compulsive licking. I have felt pretty bad about subjecting him to constant medication, however he would lick and chew on his body to the point that it was dangerous and unhealthy for him. The medication has made things better to an extent. He is far less anxious and his licking is contained to smaller areas. Aside from appearing a little stoned from time to time, he's his normal self again (okay, with bald armpits). Still, there is very little research on the side effects of giving such drugs to animals. Tomorrow Irving has a vet appointment to check out his liver and blood work to make sure everything is okay.
So if you have a moment, please send our little orange buddy some good luck thoughts. I'm pretty sure things will be fine...but for some reason, I'm feeling a little anxious about it myself!

Irving, you look adorable. I hope you are well! Don't stress out too much over your visit to the vet.
My own overly needy, obsessively self-licking fat tabby cat, Thurston, has gotten better ever since I moved into a different apartment last year. Here's to all the neurotic tabbies in Brooklyn! Feel better!!
