Still Buried, Weekend in Brief
Lexcor rose at 6:30a.m. this Saturday and hiked up to East 102nd Street/Central Park for the NYRR Hot Chocolate 15K. Simply getting up that early on a Saturday and dealing with the cold just to run 9 miles was a great accomplishment for one of us. And I was very proud of him. The race was fun and I do declare that I have really, really missed doing NYRR runs.
Saturday Summary: long, cold run; giant, painful blister on my instep; return home to no heat or hot water, culprit: busted furnace; also found 1.5" of water in basement, culprit: one broken pump and groundwater seepage; afternoon spent in basement sweeping stagnant water into working pump on other side of basement and chatting with plumber about broken furnace parts.
Sunday Summary: woke up to snow (!); quick run in snow, so pretty; heat and hot water back up, somewhat; remainder of day spent in pajamas cleaning and lolling about; term paper still not complete.
Goals for the Week: finish term paper or it's bad news bears for Corie; make holiday cards with Youngna; finish this stupid term paper; visit the Philip Johnson Glass House; look into registering my thesis as a third class in the fall so that I can graduate in January 2009; find some extra time to sleep.

Can't wait to hear about the Johnson house along with all his other "follies" on the property.
