Flickering
Alexis and I often watch the sun set from our fire escape. Depending on the time of year, the light filters through various elements of the waterfront in magnificent ways. May favorite is when the sky turns a deep purple-blue and the orange sun seeps through the Imlay carcass with such beauty that I have never been able to capture it on film.
Lately, we have been noticing that the Statue of Liberty lights have been flickering. Sometimes she is fully illuminated, sometimes she is completely dark. Last night the base lights kept popping on and off, almost like someone was accidentally leaning on the switch. What is going on here? Was there just a lack of wind or was the hamster at the base of the statue taking a break from his wheel?

Hmm, I think the hamster was on a cheese break.
After all, it was breezey yesterday. The Lady shouldn't have flickered for lack of wind. That's a wonderful view, guys!
