I Look Up and See the Worst
Every time I see a plane/I still look up and fear the worst - elbow-toe
Not to make light of sad words (because I often partake in the above mantra), but this quote by elbow-toe could be easily revised to fit its current Red Hook environs:
Every time I see scaffolding, I still look up and fear the worst.
For those of you who don't know the neighborhood: it seems as though every day a new set of cinderblock condominiums are rising up. Most of them are quite hideous.

Sadly, many folks in our wonderful city think newer is better. Sure change is inevitable, but preserving the history of a city is very cool, too. When Jane and Gregg visited Spain they took pictures of beautiful buildings hundreds of years old incorporated in the tapestry of the towns along with contemporary buildings. So beautiful!

I love this photo. It's like a postsecret card.

The image seems very out of context-- if I hadn't taken it I would not have realized that it was in Red Hook.
