What's up with people who buy their coffee before getting on the train and then proceed not to drink it until their get to the office, say a half hour or forty minutes later?
Subway spilling risk aside (you have not lived until someone has accidentally splashed you with their crappy lukewarm coffee), going through this process ensures that your coffee will be COLD upon arriving to work, which means that you will most likely put it in the MICROWAVE to heat it up. The situation just gets grosser and grosser.
Why not just buy the coffee at one of the five million street vendors around the corner from your office? Someone straighten out this logic for me.

Frieda is really warming up to the camera.

maybe they have a local store they like? maybe they like lukewarm coffee?

local store = street vendor = crappy coffee no matter where you go
lukewarm coffee = ew.

holding coffee = holding security blanket

I have friends who like their drinks tepid ... or, rather, think hot drinks are too hot until waiting 15-20 minutes (say they'll burn their tongues). I don't get it, but then again, I like my hot drinks boiling hot.

i cannot help. if i do not have the coffee IMMEDIATELY (we have the maker with an alarm to set it to go off) upon waking, i don't know what would happen. the sky would fall and the sun would turn blue. waiting for coffee= disaster on so many levels.

Frieda, what a little flirt!

Frieda also has a bit of a shedding issue going on there.
I need my coffee immediately, too, though I get a second cup (which I drink about half of) en route to work. However, if it is cool by the time I get into my office, I pitch it, as it tastes gross to begin with and lukewarm and/or microwaved milk makes my stomach turn.

Corie,
Are you still using the "kit" lens on the DigReb? Your photos seem to have more richness in tone lately and I was wondering you upgraded your glass.

Bill-- nope, same lens. I've been using a good flash, though, and have been playing with the shadows/highlight tool on PShop when needed.

While I'm no New York commuter, I am a person with a "wussy" tongue. I have to let my coffee sit for a good 15 minutes before even taking baby sips. I don't know if my sensitivity is because I didn't drink much coffee in high school or college, or my tongue is just a wimp.
Please be patient with wimpy-tongued people.

I can't stand hot coffee in the AM. I prefer iced coffee. Tea is even better. Miss Frieda looks fabulous. Which does she prefer?
